About Marella

I have been teaching hatha yoga since 2013 and practising yoga since 2008. I was inspired initially by my first teacher Nancy Strauss (an Anusara Certified teacher from the USA.)

In June 2015 I  graduated from the 500 Hour  Advanced Level Teacher Training in Dublin.
I have a keen interest in alignment based yoga and my teaching style reflects this.  I particularly like using the YogaHour methodology  because of the precision of the voice instructions and the clarity of the practice. The student will enjoy an accessible, affordable, expertly-taught flow yoga class that offers clear and specific alignment instructions for each pose. This promotes confidence, safety and wellbeing within the sessions .I think of myself as an  uplifting, powerful and humorous yoga teacher

My YogaHour classes help students become as strong as they are flexible and as flexible as they are strong. YogaHour is an ideal class for anyone who seeks to get fit and flexible in the context of a fun environment . It is not appropriate for students with injuries or significant limitations.
YogaHour aims to be the most doable yet challenging one-hour flow class on offer.

My Mission for the Bamboo Loft

Why I Teach Yoga

A few years ago, I experienced a seeringly painful insight into life that led me to a place that I can only describe as my dark night of the soul. A place I never thought I would escape from.
Throughout this time I relentlessly kept my daily meditation and yoga practice going. It was yoga that initially helped me from that prison of pain and desolation, allowing me to scramble out of the mire of my own thoughts and begin again. And it was yoga that gave me a touchstone for everyday, a precious space, where I could stop, breathe and continue . Looking back on that time from today, I know that it is possible for humans to recover from the worst in life , change, grow and blossom into something beyond what can be imagined. I know because I did recover and I am certain, with the right support, any human being can also recover and heal.
Since that time, my passion has been to help others find wellbeing and peace in their bodies, patience and love in their hearts and courage in their souls, whatever blow life has dealt them. I do this through teaching yoga with compassion, profound love, and good humour.

I welcome you to join me in my class, knowing that I offer this gift of yoga only from a place of love and authenticity . Allow yoga to move you beyond pain and doubt, bringing freedom to wherever you need it in your life.I feel certain that you too, can release and let go of what you no longer need to carry.

My mantra

"I teach yoga to help students walk with courage and grace in the world"
